ZIKA VIRUS SAFEGUARD TIPS

The Zika virus is a concern for physicians and their patients right now, and with good reason,This virus can spread from mother to fetus during pregnancy and cause severe birth defects.

“Mother and babies are more vulnerable to infections so it’s critical that we work very closely with each individual family to understand their specific risk and potential exposure so we are better able to care for them.”

Experts advises expectant mothers to review the following guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta:

1=  Avoid travel to Zika zones. If you’re pregnant or considering becoming pregnant, avoid travel to areas with active Zika virus transmission. Pregnant women who do travel to one of these areas should talk to their health-care provider first and strictly follow steps to avoid mosquito bites during their trip.

2=  Prevent mosquito bites. The best way to prevent Zika is to prevent a mosquito bite by following these recommendations:

3= Use an Environmental Protection Agency-registered insect repellent.

4= Follow product directions and reapply as directed.

5= If using sunscreen, apply sunscreen first and insect repellent second. Using an insect repellent is safe for pregnant women and nursing mothers.

6= Cover exposed skin by wearing long-sleeved shirts, long pants, and hats.

7= Avoid woody and bushy areas with high grass, brush, leaves and standing water.

8= Practice Save Sex . Zika can be passed through sex, even if the person does not have symptoms at the time. Only about 1 in 5 people with Zika virus will get symptoms of illness so people may not know they are infected. Couples with a partner who lives in or has traveled to an area with Zika should take steps to protect during sex. Pregnant women should discuss their male partner’s potential exposures to mosquitoes and history of Zika-like illness with their health-care provider.

There is no vaccine or medication to prevent or treat Zika virus infection. The CDC is now recommending that all pregnant women be assessed for possible Zika virus exposure during each prenatal care visit.

If you’re pregnant or trying to become pregnant, talk to your health-care provider.

Inform your Bank :  You should always inform your bank about your traveling plans,location and duration. This enable your bank to Geo-tracking of your transactions and help you avoid any fraudulent activities on your account

Checkbook : Don't carry a checkbook. Pay by cash or credit card. Debit cards carry a lot of hidden dangers, so if you have one, be aware of those risks

Avoid Public Wi-fi : Be cautious of free public Wi-Fi. Scammers can easily steal your information when you're using an unsecured network

Pay at the pump : Skimmers aren't the only danger to your wallet. The gas station will put a big hold on your account, typically for 4 days, that could cause your checks to bounce. If you must pay with debit at gas station, go inside and pay at the cashier.

Traveling / Vacation  can be very fun and memorable if well planned .However , it  can turn out to be horrible if you forget some important items . Below a few of *MUST HAVE * Vacation items...

Cash - In cash or in other forms ( credit cards, Debt cards, traveler check etc

Umbrella – Don’t get caught in the rain. Even if the forecast looks nice, you never know when there will be a pop-up shower or thunderstorm.

Phone charger - You may get a replacement easily but it is not free. Why spend extra money ? When you could have easily come along with your own phone Charger?

Laptop power cord – A must-have item if you’re bringing your computer along for the trip.

Prescriptions – Bring enough medication for your entire stay (plus a day or two) to avoid wasting time and money getting prescriptions refilled.

Sunglasses - You probably won't have trouble finding a new pair of sunglasses, but you may be paying a tourist  price for them. Can be very expensive

Bathing suit - A swimsuit is so easy to forget, even if you've spent months trying to fit back into it.

Belt - You might decide to skip a belt at the airport in order to breeze through security, but remember to pack one in your suitcase.

Dangerous Places For Vacation

The world keep growing smaller and despite that, the dangerous places are growing bigger..In other not to bore you will fears or too much  worries. Here are some of the most dangerous places for a vacation

Tegucigalpa, Honduras

Honduras is an incredibly popular tourist destination. It is steeped in ancient history, as well as being one of the most beautiful places in the world in terms of natural sights and vistas. You could, quite literally, get lost in its amazing natural wonders and it has far more charm than many other South American countries. However, it is a very dangerous place at the same time, particularly in terms of health and crime especially in the capital city of Tegucigalpa.

Since 2010, Honduras has had one of the highest murder rates in the world. The National Violence Observatory (NVO), an academic research institution based out of Honduras’ National Public University, reported a murder rate of 86.5 per 100,000 people in 2011, 85.5 per 100,000 people in 2012, and 79 murders per 100,000 people for 2013. The government reported that the rate had fallen to 66.4 per 100,000 as of December 31, 2014. Most of Honduras’ major cities (Tegucigalpa, San Pedro Sula, La Ceiba, and others), as well as several Honduran “departments” (a geographic designation similar to U.S. states) have homicide rates higher than the national average for 2014.
“Diseases like Dengue Fever and malaria are commonplace here. There is a seriously high level of crime . Honduras also has one of the highest murder rates in any nation in the world.”,..Medical care is limited. Emergency services, even in Tegucigalpa, are basic at best. Although many physicians are trained in the U.S., their staff and equipment are generally not up to U.S. standards.

Ciudad Juarez,
Mexico  said to be the most dangerous city to visit in terms of crime. Juarez makes appearances on Wonders World’s list of the Top 5 Most Dangerous Cities in the World, it’s mentioned in AOL Travel’s list of most dangerous honeymoons, and it places sixth on Urban Titan’s ranking of the 10 Most Dangerous Cities in the World. The U.S. Department of State reports that three times as many people have been murdered there than in any other Mexican city; in 2009, more than half of the deaths in Mexico, which were reported to the U.S. Embassy, took place in either Juarez or Tijuana.”

However, this is not to say that you should not visit Juarez, and it certainly is worth a trip. Just 20 miles away from El Paso, Texas, it is actually too good an opportunity to miss for a nice day out. However, it is very important to not have any open displays of wealth. Furthermore, people should only use ATM machines in commercial establishments. The chance of another machine being set up to steal your identity is substantial. Tourist should try as much as possible to start in public areas. Avoid remote locations and stick together....

Guatemala City

Guatemala itself is a very beautiful and popular tourist destination. Located  on the Caribbean side of Central America, awesome weather alone is enough to attract thousands of people a year and for good reason. There  many awesome facilities, beautiful resorts, stunning beaches and more. Unfortunately, the capital of the country, Guatemala City, should be avoided at all costs.

“It’s a nation that is plagued with drug violence. It has a high murder rate and other common crimes include street robberies, bus holdups and carjackings. It’s advisable if visiting Guatemala to remain in safer regions and avoid Guatemala City.”
